This Marshmallow Fondant Recipe is actually TASTY! None of that store bought nasty kind! Use this recipe and WOW your guests!
I come from a family of bakers! We’ve been in the cake business for years, running our own bakery — Yappy Doo Cakes. Baking and decorating cakes has always been our passion, and nothing makes us happier than seeing someone’s face light up when they see a custom cake. When people place orders, though, it’s surprising how often we hear, “I just want buttercream because marshmallow fondant is disgusting!”
I find this so unfortunate because, in my opinion, fondant can be absolutely amazing — soft, smooth, and perfect for decorating — but only if it’s made right. The secret is using high-quality ingredients and the right technique to get that melt-in-your-mouth texture that makes decorating a joy rather than a chore. Fondant doesn’t have to be stiff, flavorless, or overwhelming. In fact, done correctly, it can elevate any cake to something truly special.
Scroll down to find my favorite marshmallow fondant recipe, which is easy to make at home and tastes far better than the store-bought kind. I promise, once you try this recipe, you might even prefer it over buttercream for certain designs!
You can get creative with your fondant by adding traditional food coloring to match your theme, or you can use gel food colors for even more vibrant, eye-catching shades. Plus, this recipe is versatile — you can roll it out for cake coverings, shape it into flowers, or mold it into fun, decorative figures. Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned cake decorator, this recipe is a game-changer!
