How to Make Communion Bread

COVID-19 has everyone at home and away from churches across the nation. As we battle through the social distancing, live streaming church becomes necessary. It is impressive how the churches across the United States have stepped up their game and made live streaming the central way to worship so that none of us miss a worship service. If you have landed on this page, then you are interested in this communion bread recipe! Let’s get to it!

Communion is an integral part of worship at my church. We do it every Sunday morning. This is not a requirement of salvation, however, it is an act of worship each Sunday.

26 As they were eating, Jesus took some bread and blessed it. Then he broke it in pieces and gave it to the disciples, saying, “Take this and eat it, for this is my body. 27 And he took a cup of wine and gave thanks to God for it. He gave it to them and said, “Each of you drink from it, 28 for this is my blood, which confirms the covenant between God and his people. It is poured out as a sacrifice to forgive the sins of many.” Matthew 26:26-28

Another example of Jesus speaking about the communion is in Luke:

19 He took some bread and gave thanks to God for it. Then he broke it in pieces and gave it to the disciples, saying, “This is my body, which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me. 20 After supper he took another cup of wine and said, “This cup is the new covenant between God and his people—an agreement confirmed with my blood, which is poured out as a sacrifice for you.[b] Luke 22:19-20

Whether you do this act of worship every Sunday morning or are looking for the communion bread recipe for your Easter service, this recipe is SUPER easy and you’ll likely have most of the ingredients in your pantry already!

I did not make up this recipe. A precious lady at my church shared it for us to be able to participate in communion at home. I felt as though it was something more people should know about, especially with the quarantine that’s happening all over the country and world!
